The best results are obtained with a series of 3-4 sessions scheduled about 4 weeks apart. Once the initial sessions are complete most people repeat once a year or so.

Though there are devices you can use at home, they have shorter needles that will not penetrate as deeply and will not be as effective.

There are no serious risks or side effects when used by a professional. Mild redness, bruising, inflammation, tenderness and swelling can occur but are short lasting.
